Advanced Lock & Safe provides 23 hour (we have to sleep sometimes!) mobile lock and safe services that includes emergency opening of homes, businesses, foreign and domestic automobiles, safes, vaults or just about anything that has any kind of locking device on it. We can generate new keys if keys are lost, rekey locks and change the combination of almost any safe or vault. We design, install and service multi-level masterkey systems for most brands of lock including Assa high security locks. We install and maintain mechanical and electronic access control devices, door closers and openers.

My name is Vic Szilard and I am the owner/operator of Advanced Lock & Safe. I have been a full-time locksmith since March 1988. After completing my certification I opened my first business, Advanced Locksmith in May 1988 and provided shop and mobile locksmith services in High Desert of Southern California. In May 1992 we moved to Arizona, the Grand Canyon State, and have been operating out of Fort Mohave ever since. Fort Mohave is just south of Bullhead City limits on the east side of the Colorado River, near the California, Nevada and Arizona border junction.

Personal Interests

Flying
In 1980, at the age of 17, I earned my private pilot's license in a single-engine Piper Warrior II. By age 21 I had acquired a commercial pilot's license for both single and multi-engine land aircraft. And at 23, I completed the licensing requirements for an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic while managing a small airport in Southern California (Hesperia Airpark). My love of flying continues to this day. I have logged over 1200 hours of flight time in 17 different types of aircraft. As a Commercial Pilot, I have piloted scenic flights, performed aerial banner towing operations and maintenance flights of repaired or restored aircraft.
Commercial pilot, locksmith, volunteer deputy sheriff

Computer/Internet
I have been working with computers since I took my first computer class in 1981. I was on the Internet (originally ARPANET) and frequenting BBS and University sites before anyone knew there was an Internet.

Sports
I was a competitive swimmer for over ten years and worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor for the Los Angeles Unified School District while attending high school in Van Nuys, graduating from Birmingham High School in 1981. I then went on to play a season of Water Polo at the Los Angeles Valley College in Van Nuys.

Although no longer a competitive swimmer, water sports are still a big part of my life, living within a mile of the Colorado River, I regularly boat, fish, swim in the river and ride Jet Ski's. Before moving my family to Arizona, I participated in desert Hare Scramble motorcycle races in the high desert of California, until a terrible accident left me almost paralyzed. It was during recovery from spinal surgery that I decided to study to become a locksmith.

Hobbies
My hobbies include: Shooting, Ammunition Reloading, Hunting, Fishing, Boating, Hiking, 4X4, Camping, Computers/Internet, Video/Still Photography...just to name a few. :-)
